MINT, BATTLE OF BRITAIN ERA, 1928 To Early WW2 British RAF Fighter Pilot’s Lightweight Flying Goggles (MK II) No Lenses Strap Marked ‘K8’. Sn 15339:23 - 15339:23

This style of goggle has become known as the MKII although no record exists of it by that title. Introduced in 1928 the pattern was obsolete before WW2 began but continued to be used throughout the early war years and are prevalent in contemporary pictures of Battle Of Britain fighter pilots (see page 29 of Luftwaffe vs RAF by Prodger). The goggles in near mint condition should have flat laminate lenses but the lenses of our example are absent. The goggles have the correct light grey alloy frames, backed with brown material and correct brown simulated fur. The leather sprung head strap has the correct 2 adjustment buckles and is ink stamped ‘K8’. The display head illustrated in the images is not included. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 15339:23
