These WW2 British D-Day Landings Infra-red Night Vision Scope also known as “Tabby”, were produced just prior to the D-Day landings, these night vision scopes were issued to Special Forces units who went ahead of the main invasion force on the evening before and morning of the landings. The unit itself comprised of a hermetically sealed receiver unit containing a triple pyle 3,000 volt battery, (long since dead) and the infra-red optics. The screen is magnified by a lens-eyepiece which is adjustable for focus by turning. The scope is in near mint condition and housed in the original leather carry case complete with leather straps and securing strap for the case.
