A very fine helmet having a raised central comb, pierced ear flaps and pointed skull. The Burgonet design offered good peripheral vision without sacrificing protection in critical areas of the head and neck. This seem to have appealed from the lowest infantrymen to kings and proved especially popular for cavalry use. A fine quality Burgonet helmet. Circa 1650. Very good condition. Ref 1098.
