Description

A fine percussion single barrel duelling pistol by William Ellis of London, in almost new condition. Circa 1830-35. The 9.5 inch octagonal barrel still retaining most of its original browning and engraved on top with the makers name and address - William Ellis, 61 James Street, London. The lock-plate with scroll engraving and engraved with the makers name - William Ellis. Sliding safety fitted to rear of hammer. Gold inlaid in two lines at the breech. Fitted with set trigger. Fitted with a front and rear sight. Silver escutcheon inlaid to the wrist. Finely chequered grip. Floral engraved oval flat butt- cap. Spur engraved trigger guard retains most of its original blue. Two iron ramrod pipes, complete with brass tipped ramrod. Approx .52 calibre. Overall length 15 inches. In exceptional condition, a very fine example of a percussion duelling pistol. Ref 1298.This is an obsolete antique pistol and is sold as a collectors item only. No Licence is required in the United Kingdom.
