A scarce American Civil War era tip-up .32 rim-fire revolver made by the world famous Smith & Wesson of Springfield Mass. Circa 1860-1870. The 6 inch barrel marked on top with the name "SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD MASS". The patent dates engraved around the middle of the cylinder. Rosewood grips. Overall length 11 inches. This Smith & Wesson revolver was one of the very first commercially successful revolvers to use rim-fire cartridges instead of the previously popular loose powder and lead ball. The action in crisp working order and in good overall condition with some original blued finish remaining. Showing very little sign of wear or use. Ref 1584. A nice addition to any collection.
