Engraved Smith on one side and London on the other side. The finely chequered butt fitted with a diamond shaped silver escutcheon. Screw-off barrel 1.5 inches in length, approx .36 calibre. Drop down folding trigger. Sliding top safety. The frame stamped underneath with two clear British proof marks. The side plates both engraved with a stand of arms. Nice crisp action. Overall length approx 5 inches. In good condition with some very minor blemishes. A good example of an English percussion muff pistol of the type carried for personal protection during the 18th century. Ref 1682.
