(Probably Georg Schemetzler, who had a workshop in Wiener Neustadt, Austria. Circa 1750-1780). Round steel barrel with chizzelled brass frame. The sword hilt engraved and embossed overall, the shell-guard embossed with three panels. The blade showing signs of some ageing. Ribbed black horn grip. The barrel length approx 2 inches. Blade length is 22 inches, stamped with a fleur-de-lis armourer's mark. In very good overall condition, showing signs of wear. Action in working order. Length 28 inches. Ref 1800.
