A rare all brass Napoleonic period British Flintlock travelling pistol made by CHANCE & HOMER of London, circa 1783. The screw-off brass cannon barrel is approx 6 inches long. The side plate engraved "CHANCE & HOMER" The butt inlaid with silver wire decoration (some wire missing as is usual). Good well used condition. An excellent example of the type of weapon carried by a gentleman or officer during the period c.1780-1783, just before the start of Napoleonic wars. This is quite a rare maker as they seem to have been in business in London for only a very short time. Good overall condition showing some signs of genuine use. Length approx 12 inches. Ref 2432..
