Possibly a British military issued bayonet. Turned plain wooden grip with a plain short brass cross-guard and a brass ring just below the lobed iron pommel. Blade with some heavy rusting indentations. The blade with no armourer's marks. A completely honest un-cleaned piece. Probably English. Circa 1650-1700. Overall length 15.5 inches. Ref 2477.
