The shell-guard, knuckle-bow and pommel are embossed with British traditional stand-of-arms decoration. The grip is wrapped with silver wire and is in almost perfect condition. The lower pas d'an rings on the shell guard are stamped with full British silver hallmarks, (please see photos). The Colichmarde blade is engraved on both sides of the blade (engraving now faint). This is an authentic silver hilted small-sword manufactured around the time of the American revolution, circa 1770-1780. Overall length 40 inches. Blade length 33 inches. The condition is very good.
