A very ornate silver mounted and inlaid flintlock blunderbuss, probably from Turkey, mid-19th century. Full wooden stock inset with various shaped panels and silver wire work. Silver trigger guard, side-plate and butt plate. The barrel engraved for half its length. The stock fitted with an iron saddle ring. The 16 inch barrel widely flared at the muzzle, overall the blunderbuss measures 27 inches. The flintlock action is quite crisp and in working condition. Superb silver inlaid work to the stock with some of the silver panels replaced with brass decoration. Very good condition. A very attractive item. Ref 2667.
