A good American Civil War era 5 shot .32 rim-fire tip-up revolver made by the world famous Smith & Wesson company of Springfield Mass. Circa 1865-1875. The 3.5 barrel engraved SMITH & WESSON. SPRINGFIELD. MASS PAT.D. APR.3. JULY 5.1859 & NOV.21.1865. This Smith & Wesson revolver was one of the very first commercially successful revolvers to use rim-fire cartridges instead of the previously popular loose powder and lead ball. This revolver retaining some of its original blued finish, showing very little sign of use. The grips still retaining some original lacquer. Good working action. Overall length 8 inches. Ref 2710.
