The side-plate engraved Elliott & co and London on the other side. Flat sided walnut butt. Screw-off 2.5 inch steel barrel. London proof marks to the underside of the breech. This is the type of small pistol that would have been carried in a pocket or a saddle bag during the 18-19th century by a gentleman, traveller, or officer as a personal protection weapon.
