A superb quality 17th/18th century Spanish cup-hilt rapier with deeply pierced and chisselled bowl. The hilt comprising a round iron pommel, very good quality re-enforced wire-bound grip, decorated around the deep bowl with various pierced panels. Iron knuckle bow with two long straight steel quillons. The blade approximately 38 inches in length, Some minor signs of wear and use, otherwise in excellent overall condition.
