A scarce and nice quality English 19th Century Percussion pocket pistol made by Monck of Stamford, Lincolnshire, England. Nice crisp action engraved on the barrel with the gun-makers name J. MONCK STAMFORD. The walnut butt fitted with an oval escutcheon. Screw-off octagonal barrel, barrel length approx 2 inches. Good working order. The barrel and frame are both stamped with a Birmingham proof mark. Folding drop-down trigger. Action very crisp. Overall length approx 6 inches. Circa 1830-1840. Very good overall condition. This is a nice example of a pocket pistol that would have been carried for personal protection during the mid 19th century. Ref 3167.
