Largest selection of genuine antique weapons for sale in UK. See our website andrewbottomley.com. Ref 3188. An exceptional blued .32 calibre double action percussion revolver by Deane Adams & Deane. Circa 1851-1856. This revolver was manufactured by Deane Adams & Deane No 30 King William Street, London Bridge, Circa 1851-1856. In the 1850s a mechanism called the double Action was invented and It started with the Adams revolver from England. The inventor was one Robert Adams, who was a manager for a London based manufacturer called George & John Deane. He invented a revolver where pulling the trigger cocked the hammer, rotated the chamber and then released the hammer, all with a single trigger pull. The Adams revolver sold well in England, and was actually approved by the British Small Arms Committee and also for the East India Company. In fact the Deane company even went to the extent of making Adams a partner of the company and renamed themselves from Deane & Deane to Deane, Adams and Deane. The gunmaker's name Deane Adams & Deane (Makers to HRH Prince Albert) 30 King William Street, London Bridge engraved on top of the octagonal barrel. The blued frame engraved with scrolling and Adams patent. Finely chequered grips (they need a clean). In very good overall condition retaining most of its original blued finish. In good working order, front sight missing. Overall length 10 inches. Ref 3188. If you wish to purchase this item please visit our website andrewbottomley.com where you can pay by credit/debit card.
