A scarce British Military Flintlock Officer's Pistol known as the Short Sea-Service model. Dating from the time of the Napoleonic Wars, Circa 1800-1815. Rounded typical military skull-crusher butt-cap, matching brass trigger-guard, forend pipe and sideplate. Action in excellent working order. Complete with its original steel ramrod and steel belt hook. The lock marked with tiny broad arrow with crown over, also marked "GR" crown & "TOWER". Marked on the wrist BO with broad arrow. This type of heavy calibre flintlock pistol were carried by British naval officers during the Napoleonic campaigns of the 18th-19th century. These pistols were well regarded by serving British officers. Overall length 16 inches. Good condition and in working order. Ref 7744.
