A scarce good quality English 19th Century Percussion travelling pistol made by SMITH and engraved on the lockplate with his name. This pistol would date from around 1830-1845. Heavy octagonal barrel of aprox .45 calibre, barrel length approx 6 inches. The finely chequered walnut butt fitted with an iron trigger guard and ramrod pipe. Good working order. The barrel fitted with a front sight. Overall length approx 10 inches. The percussion nipple well worn, otherwise in good condition. Circa 1830-1845. Ref 8965.
