An unsual Napoleonic Period sea service Flintlock Pistol of large calibre approx .73 Cal. Probably French. Circa 1750 -1800. These pistols were carried by both Naval and military personnel during the late 18th/early 19th century. Rounded typical military brass skull-crusher butt-cap, matching military brass trigger-guard, forend pipe and sideplate. No markings to the lock. The escutcheon of a very unusual shape. (Please see photo). Complete with wooden ramrod and long steel belt hook. In good condition. Overall length approx 21 inches. Ref 9366.
