A scarce Irish single shot percussion pistol with Octagonal barrel and a hinged Captive steel ramrod. Engraved on the lock W. RIGBY and DUBLIN engraved on top of the barrel. Overall length 8 inches. Very nice 3.5 inch barrel stamped on top with an old Irish census number E.C.392. The pistol retains some original finish to the lock-plate. Circa 1840. Very good condition and in working order. A scarce type of pistol. Rigby gunmakers are the 3rd oldest gunmaking company in the world and are still in business today. Ref 9584.
