A scarce Napoleonic era French Military Flintlock Officer's Pistol manufactured at one of the the French Military arsenals and stamped with the date of 1813. Dating from the time of the Napoleonic Wars, Circa 1795-1815. Rounded brass military skull-crusher butt-cap, matching brass military style trigger-guard, forend band and side-plate. Action in excellent working order. Complete with its steel ramrod. The lock engraved with the French arsenal name (indistinct). This type of heavy calibre flintlock pistol were carried by the French infantry, naval personnel and cavalry officers during the era of the Napoleonic campaigns of the late 18th-early 19th century, including at the Battle of Waterloo. Overall length 14 inches. The barrel dated just 2 years before the battle of Waterloo - with the date of 1813. Good condition and in working order. Ref 9920.
