Description

This is a listing for a Remington-Beals 1858 Navy Model Revolver, produced between 1861 and 1862. The Revolver is the predecessor of the well known Remington New Model Navy .36 percussion Revolver and was designed by F. Beals, who originally filed a patent for this type of Revolver in 1858.

There were supposedly only 14,500 of these ever produced so they are getting harder to find nowadays.

The Revolver is in good condition and has been kept away from moisture. There appears to be an issue with the firing mechanism but this could easily be repaired with a single piece.

I would not recommend this for anyone hoping to fire the pistol as it has clearly been used extensively with damage to the nipples, though the timing of the cylinder is still perfect. I am sure this could be restored with relative ease if that is something you would be interested in. However, this item would do better as a display piece owing to its rarity.

Damage:

- Firing mechanism works only when trigger in forward position, if gun tilted forward due to loose trigger.

- Wear inside bore and on nipples

- Wear to grips

- Loading lever loose
