Scarce NICKLE PLATED example of a Remington .44 calibre model 1863, New Army revolver. serial number 92193. As widely used by officer's during the American Civil War. Walnut grips, nickel plated finish overall. Crisp operating single action, all nipples intact but slightly corroded. The rifling in the bore is very good. Remington makers address on to of octagonal barrel: REMINGTON & SON, ILION NYEW YORK USA , PATENTED SEPT 14 1858 NEW MODEL. Plating worn from the trigger guard, revealing the brass underneath. Plating is worn near to the muzzle and around the loading lever hinge screw, but is not flaking. Small group of dents around cylinder road. Serial number is stamped to the frame inside the grips. Overall in very good condition.
