This is an original U.S Army issue, Colt 1911A1 .45 ACP calibre semi automatic pistol. Its serial number 1021384 dates its manufacturer to 1942-43 by Remington Rand. This pistol is stamped ' United States Property M1911A1 U.S. ARMY' and Serial number on the right side of its frame (illustrated in image 2) together with faint ‘M1911A1’. It also has the Remington rand Inc name and USA address. The pistol retains all of its original parkerised finish. The pistol’s finely chequered brown plastic grips are in great undamaged condition. The butt has a fixed lanyard ring. Deactivated to UK/EU specification the weapon’s slide and trigger move but the firing mechanism has been internally disconnected so it does not cock & dry fire.
