This is a nice Ross MK II, modified with a larger muzzle ring and a re-ground blade tip. It is stamped on the pommel with "Ross Rifle Co Quebec Patent 1907" on one side and on the other with the Canadian Ownership mark "11 12/16" denoting manufacture in December 1916. The pommel and the grips also carry inspection stamps. The slab grips are in very good condition secured with two screw bolts. The push button release works as it should. The bayonet measures 14 3/4 inches overall and has an officially modified clean 10 inch blade. It is contained in its brown leather scabbard with integral frog. The tip of the scabbard is stamped with "MK II" the Canadian ownership stamp and inspection marks and "RRCI" denoting Royal Canadian Regiment of Infantry. The rear of the frog is stamped with "644783". The front is stamped with "AH" (presumably the owners initials). This is a very nice complete WW1 bayonet combination. (see Skennerton's item C7 pages 300-304). The price includes UK delivery. Bayo 218
