The Mosin–Nagant is a five-shot, bolt-action, internal magazine-fed, military rifle, developed by the Imperial Russian Army in 1882–91, and used by the armed forces of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and various other nations. Finland made Mosin Nagant rifles designating them M91/30. Finland participated in the Second World War initially as an independent country battling the Soviet Union, followed by another battle with the Soviet Union as a co-belligerent with Nazi Germany and then finally switching sides to the Allies against Nazi Germany. Although Finland manufactured M91/30’s many Russian Mosin Nagants were captured from the Soviet Union or bought from Germany during WW2 from captured equipment. This is an excellent 1944 dated, Mosin Nagant / Finnish M91/30 sniper rifle. Deactivated to UK/EU specification in 2020 the rifle's bolt & trigger move. It has undamaged metal work with even patina and all original undamaged wood furniture. The barrel shank is stamped with the Finnish Arsenal Tikkakoski (Tika) ‘T within triangle and roundel’ mark and ‘SA’ Finnish Army property mark. It is also dated 1944. The barrel has calibre detail ‘7,62 Russian’. The weapon has its original cleaning rod, adjustable rear sight, shrouded post fore sight and steel butt plate numbered ‘BE1732’. The breech is numbered '66851'. The bolt is numbered ‘36525’. The fore stock and shoulder stock are correctly slotted for sling anchor and fitted with leather and webbing sling. This rifle is fitted with a period Russian marked Telescopic sniper sight which has period leather lens protector caps joined by leather strap. The sight has Russian Hammer & Sycle mark highlighted in yellow, 1942 date and serial number (illustrated).
