This is a Siamese bayonet for the Mauser Type 45 or 1902 rifle (the year the rifle was adopted). Like the rifle, the bayonet was made in Japan. The blade is single edged and fullered and carries the Thai script for 1902. The pommel also carries Thai script. The scabbard is made of steel and the throat has a small recess allowing the scabbard to remain on the bayonet even when fixed to the rifle. See An Illustrated History of Bayonets by Martin J.
