This is an excellent original New Model No.3 top break revolver. This revolver is chambered for the UK obsolete black powder centre fire cartridge, 32- 44. It has a 6 ½” barrel which has a clean bore and crisp rifling. The weapon has a blade foresight and 'v' notch plate rear sight. The top of the barrel is stamped ' SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASSUSA PATT'D JAN 17 & 24 65 JULY 11 65, AUG 24TH 69, APR 20 75 FEB 20 & DEC18 1877 REISSUE JULY 25 1871'. The revolver retains its original blue finish and original chequered panel gutta percha grips which are undamaged & have S&W roundels. The butt has early production serial number ‘733’. The weapon's single action firing mechanism works perfectly.
