A Starr Arms Co. civil war era Model 1858 .44 calibre double action revolver with later conversion to a .44R cal. . The revolver has a walnut handle. The frame markings read "Starr Arms Co. New York" and "Starr's patent Jan. 15, 1856"
The gun has a length of 10.5 inches (26.75cm), and the barrel has a length of 5 inches (12.75cm). The grips are good, some very minor loss to the upper leading corners but free from splits. There is very minor pitting forward of the chamber. It is in good working order. Some time post Civil war it has been converted to take the .44R cartridge.
