On Auction : This musket is an 1800s Swedish infantry musket converted from flintlock to percussion in 1849. The 18 mm diameter bright barrel is in good condition with a few surface rust spots that can be easily cleaned. The walnut full-stock is also in good condition, though the first section has been repaired and front brass barrel ring is not original. The Gun is equipped with a tang mounted rear sight and half-round brass foresight for targeted shooting. The top of the barrel is marked NT, TVPS, S. The side of the barrel is marked 955, BH, D, and CE. The small plug in the side vent is marked IGB. The armoury mark for this gun is XVI (marked in the lock-space and under the barrel). The inside of the lock-plate is marked 955 and IGB. The hammer is also marked 955, as is the butt plate tang which also has the numbers 8 over 24. The trigger guard is marked with an A. The mainspring is strong and the gun has a good overall robust feel.
