Description

~ Tower 1759 Pattern Light Dragoon Flintlock Pistol ~

The pistol bears on its lockplate the “Tower”, “Crown” over “GR” and a rare very early East India Company inspector’s mark “1” beneath the Crown.

The barrel also bears a pair of Georgian inspector’s marks on the left side.

The grip has been carved on the top with a sort of a star mark.

The lockplate is of a very good quality suggesting that this was an officer’s piece.

The trigger guard and the buttplate are made of brass.

Most of the wooden frame is assembled together with wooden pegs.

The ramrod is original as well, its brass tip being attached to its wooden rod with a brass nail.

The piece is .67 calibre.

~ Dimensions ~

The barrel is 9 inches (23 cm) long and the overall length of the piece is 15 ½ inches (39.4 cm).

It weighs 1.13 Kg.

~ Condition ~

The piece is in fair condition for its age.

The wooden grip cracked at one point in time and it has a repair done to it.

The rest of the wooden frame has age ware, but remains in good condition.

The metal work remains in good conditions with some ageing.

The barrel remains clean inside, free of damage.

~ Postage ~

UK postage is £18, international at cost and it can be viewed in our shop.
