Tranter's 1862 Patent 7 Shot - John Blissett London .32 Revolver

Here I have for Sale with a Stunning Blued frame and barrel, Rare seven shot Tranter's Revolver which the images simply don’t do it justice to as the finish, at least 80% of which is simply like factory finish.

A .32 Rimfire Calibre Tranter 1862 Patent, seven shot, sheath trigger Revolver retailed by “ John Blissett of High Holburn London “ Serial number 2395, Birmingham Proof marks, circa 1862-68. with deeply blued frame and an octagonal sighted barrel of near 'hog's back' form, engraved band at muzzle, crescent fore-sight, blued borderline-engraved solid frame marked 'W. TRANTER'S PATENT' on left side of barrel throat.

A push -button safety to the left side top of sideplate, colour hardened cylinder, polished hammer and spur trigger, finely chequered walnut grip and colour hardened domed butt-cap, the whole frame and barrel retaining virtually all its original blue finish with minimal faded colour where appropriate.

Signed by the retailer on top, border-engraved frame stamped with serial number on the left, and grooved for sighting on the top. Length is 8 1/4inches overall with a 3.5 inch barrel.

Tranter patented his new frame construction for the so-called sheath trigger revolver in 1863 under patent number 1862. See W. Berk 2008, pages 17-19.

This outstanding Revolver is Genuinely the best condition example I have ever seen and hopefully the images show this, the barrel and inside chambers are clean and like new.

It's from my Private collection and a very reluctant sale, however I need to raise funds as off work recovering from an Operation and have had to Sell a number of Pistols to keep afloat.

This high end quality Revolver comes housed in its original burr walnut veneered English market case lined and compartmented in blue baize, complete with turn-screw, cleaning rod and seven .32 calibre vintage unstruck and inert rounds for display purpose’s only.

The Price is £2910 which was the amount paid at Auction, I am happy to provide the Original Auction House Invoice as provenance to validate this with the Sale.
