~ Unique Sabre Bladed Naval 1767 Pattern Briquet ~
Here we have something interesting and rather unique, a 1767 briquet sabre with a longer and straighter sabre blade than commonly found.
Briquet sabres were carried in the 18th and 19th centuries by other ranks and some naval and merchant naval personnel as a sidearm before they were completely abandoned in favour of the bayonet.
This sabre blade is sized almost like a cutlass and I believe it may have been a naval variation of the briquette. Overall this is a fun and interesting example of a non standard weapon from the 18th century.
~ Condition ~
The sword is in good condition for its near 300 years and all the conflicts it would have been through.
