Kincardineshire also known as The Mearns (from A' Mhaoirne meaning "The Stewartry") is a historic County on the coast of northeast Scotland. It is bounded by Aberdeenshire on the north and west, and by Angus on the south. The county town was originally the town of Kincardine. The Kincardine County Police Constabulary was formed in 1841. This is an original Victorian Truncheon. Police Truncheon, Hand Decorated To The Scottish Kincardine County Constabulary. The staff is made from heavy wood, the body is painted Black and the grip unpainted natural wood all varnished. The body of the staff is hand decorated with Queen’s Crown within a decorative foliate panel and banners in Gold, Red & Black with wording ‘Kincardine’, ‘County’ and ‘Police’ in Gold. The decorations retain much of their original vivid colours. The truncheon has a contoured grooved grip recessed for wrist strap with rounded pommel. The truncheon measures 15” in length.
