This is a scarce 1917 pattern bayonet made by Wilkinson during the Second World War. These bayonets were issued to all the services from 1936 onwards and this is one of the batch ordered by the war office on the 15th July 1941. The blade is marked with 1907 W.S.C. over 10 42 (October 1942). These bayonets are not to be confused with the bayonets that Wilkinson were contracted to make for the Lanchester machine gun as those carry the wartime code for Wilkinson of S 294. This bayonet is one of only 41,907 made before the Lanchester machine gun bayonet contract for which 87,600 were produced and is therefore a very scarce in the 1907 run of bayonets. See Skennerton page 230. The price includes U.K. delivery. BAYO 255
