1914 Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action .44 WCF (Winchester Centre Fire) Calibre Saddle Carbine With Full Length Tube Magazine & Saddle Ring. Sn 17108:3 - 17108:3

***This Firearm is deactivated to one of the pre- 2nd May 2017, UK specifications. As such it can only be sold and exported in its present state to customers in NON- EU countries including the Isle of Man and Channel Islands. It is presently awaiting re-proof & certification to the latest UK / EU specification.*** The Model 1873 was one of the most successful Winchester rifles of its day, with Winchester marketing it as "The Gun That Won the West". Still an icon in the modern day, it was manufactured between 1873 and 1923. No Model 1873’s were made in calibres that are currently on the UK obsolete calibre list. This is a very good, original example of the Winchester Model 1873 lever action saddle carbine. The rifle is chambered in .44 WCF. The rifle has a 20" round steel barrel & measures 39" overall. The top of the barrel and underside of the action are marked with calibre detail ’44 WCF’ & ‘44 Cal’. The barrel has indistinct very faint Winchester detail. The breech tang is marked ‘Model 1873 Winchester trade Mark’. It has all original Walnut woodwork which has knocks, bumps & bruises to be expected with age & use and the metal work has even patina throughout. The rifle is serial number ‘686089 B’ which dates its manufacture to 1914. It has a block fore sight, a flip up rear sight, steel butt plate with trap, saddle ring and full length tube magazine. Deactivated to early UK Specification in 1997, in its present condition, it's lever loading and firing actions work as they should. The price includes UK delivery and deactivation certificate.
