This is a superb copy of a scarce 1933 first edition published by the Board of Management to the Australian War Memorial and was edited by J.L.Teloar, the director of the A.W.M. at Canberra. The book contains 52 plates in colour and duo-tone of official war artist paintings and covers all aspects of W.W.1 on both land, sea and air. Each coloured plate has a corresponding text opposite which gives details of the scene depicted by the artist. This is a first edition on the original buckram cloth binding with the Australian coat of arms in gilt embossed to the front cover. The book is an oblong folio in very tight and undamaged condition due no doubt to being contained in its scarce original box. Most copies are damaged or have had plates removed. This copy is in a nice complete condition and is rare to find in its original box with its original protective paper dust sleeve. This is a superb record of the Australians at war by many famous artists of the time. Price includes UK delivery. BO 309
