This is the so called ‘butcher’s knife’, the bayonet used by the German army for the K98 rifle at the beginning of the war. It is not serrated on the back.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade length is 14.25 inches (36.5 cm) and the overall length of the bayonet is 19.5 inches (49.5 cm).
~ Condition ~
The blade is rusty and it has signs of heavy usage. It was sharpened numerous times, as can be seen in the pictures.
The wooden gips are cracked and some wooden areas are missing. There is surface rust on the guard as well.
The blade has some nicks.
