WW1 Model 98/05 German Imperial 1916 Dated Butchers Bayonet Bayonets

The blade is marked with manufacturing mark, Gottliee Hammesfahr Solingen, Foche.

The edge of the ricasso is marked with a W beneath the crown, a 16 and an inspectors mark.
This is a new model bayonet, with its quillion. The pommel is stamped with a proof mark. The blade is chromed, as is the scabbard.
The scabbard bears no marks or stamps. It comes with its black leather frog.

~ Dimensions ~

The length of the blade is 37cm, and the overall length is 49cm. The length within the scabbard is 51cm, and the width is 7.5cm. The overall weight of the item is 0.9kg.

~ Condition ~

The blade is in good condition with no signs of damage. The grip remains in excellent condition, and the spring button works as intended.
The scabbard developed some minor loss of chrome, but remains dent free. The leather frog has minimum signs of age.
