~ WW2 Era Japanese Officers Katana ~
Here we have a near mint WW2 period Katana. It is a brilliant piece because it appears to have a near mint blade that is older than the period, possibly mid 19th century or earlier.
The sword is constructed of a beautifully machined blade with a hamon, wood and leather sheath, a cord wrapped shagreen grip with gunmetal and gilt fittings.
I would say from the care and attention put into the blade that the sword is of high quality and early to mid-war.
Overall this is an incredibly clean and interesting example of a last ditch weapon and would look brilliant in any collection.
Nicely the sword comes with its knot still attached.
