The arm band is marked “Im Dienst der Deutschen Wehrmacht” which reads “In the service of the German Wehrmacht”.
The Wehrmacht was in the unified forces of Nazi Germany from 1935 to 1945.
This is one of the types of armbands that were worn by non-military and non-German volunteers working for and under the jurisdiction of the German Armed Forces.
Reverse of armband has a machine stitched vertical seam, extremely fine.
