~ WW2 German Kriegsmarine Artillery Stopwatch By Hanhart ~
A rare Second World War Kriegsmarine Artillery stopwatch by the
Swiss-German watch company 'Hanhart'.
Hanhart supplied material to the German military during the
Second World War including stopwatches/watches for pilots and
This piece is rare due to the fact that it is marked specifically for the artillery branch of the Kriegsmarine, rather than the more usually found general Kriegsmarine.
The stopwatch has a nickel-chromed case with snap on front
bezel and plastic crystal. It features a large sized crown for start-
stop-reset functions and a suspension loop to the top.
The watch has a black painted dial with an outer white ring
measuring 0 -30 seconds and an inner red ring from 31 -60
seconds. it has small minutes dial to the upper edge.
The dial is named 'Hanhart' and also reads 'Anker 7 Steine'.
The watch is engraved to the reverse with the Reichsadler over
an uppercase 'M' denoting the item is Kriegsmarine. It is also
inscribed 'Artl.' (for Artillery) and with the issue number '4418'.
~ Dimensions ~
The watch has a diameter of 5cm (2 inches).
It weighs 70g.
~ Condition ~
The dial is clean and without damage.
The crystal has only a couple of very light scratches. It has a
slight yellow hue, which may have come from age but could
possibly be the original colour.
The case has only the slightest wear to the finish to one edge,
and has only light scratching to the reverse.
The stopwatch is in good working order and is a wonderful
example of its type in a fantastic condition.
