~ WW2 Third Reich Glider Pilot’s Badge ~
One of the rarest of the Luftwaffe badges, the glider pilot badge was instituted on December 16, 1940. It was awarded to pilots who successfully completed the glider training course.
The badge was compromised of a silvered oak leaves wreath with a swastika at the base.
An eagle is riveted to the wreath by two tiny round rivet, the eagles' wings are widely spanned with its legs furled close to the body. The claws are detailed and hand finished, and the ridges are burnished.
The reverse of the eagle is stamped with the maker “Jmme C Sohn Berlin”.

The badge has a height of 2.3 inches (5.9 cm) & a width of 2.2 inches (5.5 cm) .
It weighs 26 g.
~ Condition ~
The badge is in good condition, minor age wear to the swastika. The pin clasp works well.
