It is distinguishable from the standard ‘1907’ pattern by the markings to the blade of crown over ‘E.R. 1907 S294 W.S.C. and 3 ’44. The ‘S294’ is ‘Wilkinsons’ wartime code and 3 ‘44 denotes its manufacture in March 1944. The scabbard is a ‘No1 MkII’ with round frog stud and marked to both. The chape and topmount are imprinted with ‘W.J.H.’ over ‘B’ and ‘M/121’. The frog is a standard 1937 pattern webbing example. Only ’87,600’ of these bayonets were manufactured from ‘1943’ onwards, making them a very scarce bayonet. The blade is in excellent condition with only minor age related marks. Similarly the scabbard and frog are in very good condition. (Lanchester sub machine gun for illustration purposes only) The price includes U.K. delivery. BAYO 708
