William IV (William Henry; 21 August 1765 – 20 June 1837) was King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and King of Hanover from 26 June 1830 until his death in 1837. This is an original William IV era Painted Police Truncheon. The Ebonised wood is hand painted on the front and back aspects with Crown above WR & 4 decreasing lines denoting (IV) (William IV Rex). The truncheon also features a red painted top section and red band in the grip area. Its original gilt, red and blue/green colours are vivid. The truncheon measures 21 ¼” overall length.
