Create my profile now!The first models of the BSA Airsporter model, not grooved for telescopic sights. It has a an automatic tap port opening as the underlever is pulled down. The top of the cylinder is etched ‘The Birmingham Small Arms Co Ltd-Airsporter .22 Rifle-Made in England’. The serial is in front of the trigger ‘GC1152’. According to a 1958 Parker-Hale catalogue the loss of equipment and essential tools during WWII lead to a complete re-design of the BSA range. The beech stock has some age/use related wear and is missing a small piece near the hand grip. It has shrouded fore sight and an adjustable rear. The metalwork retains 80% of its blueing and the rear of the cylinder and trigger guard are missing some black powder paint. (see Page 48 of Hillers Book 'A Collectors Guide to Air Rifles'). The rifle is 44” overall length. It is under lever cocking and the barrel's bore is clean with crisp rifling it cocks and fires as it should with a strong spring action firing at 7.15 ft/lbs.
