Colt had discontinued the iconic Single Action Army prior to World War II, and few single-action revolvers were available to meet market demand for cowboy-style revolvers. In 1953, the new firm of Sturm, Ruger & Company introduced the Single-Six single-action revolver. The Single-Six proved to be a popular seller, leading Ruger to develop and market a centre fire revolver similar to the Colt Single Action Army: the Ruger single six. This Ruger USA Single Six Model .22 Long Round Calibre Western Flat Top Single Action 6 Shot Revolver is in excellent condition. The pistol has a 5 ½” barrel and is 10 ¾” overall length. The pistol retains its original blue finish and has an alloy grip frame. It has a blade foresight and ‘v’ notch plate rear sight. The barrel and frame are crisply marked by the manufacturer with calibre and model detail (all illustrated). The frame is also stamped with serial number ‘169111’ which dates its manufacture to 1960. It is side gate loading and has its original captive ejector slide. Its chequered plastic grips are original, undamaged and have their original Ruger roundels inlaid. Deactivated to UK specification in 1997, the weapon’s cylinders are blocked and it cocks and dry fires correctly in single action. The price includes deactivation certificate and UK delivery**We can arrange for this firearm to be brought up to the latest UK/EU specification for UK customers (customers can purchase on our lay-away scheme. The weapon will then be brought up to EU specification and the relevant certificate obtained prior to the transfer of ownership and delivery)** Sn 20806:1
