Create my profile now!In 1902 Experimental Long and Short bayonets were trialled to succeed the 1888 pattern Bayonets. After the trial period it was decided that, when fixed to rifles, the Short version affected accuracy of fire less than the Longer heavy version. The short bladed version was approved and introduced as the '1903 Pattern' sword bayonet.This 1903 pattern bayonet was made by Wilkinson London. The bayonet has a 12” polished steel blade with medial ridge. The ricasso is manufactuer marked ‘Wilkinson London’ below inspection mark. The grips are wood held by 2 screw bolts. It has a steel cross guard with muzzle ring and steel pommel with oil hole and sprung lug button. The grip frame has period applied tooled Indian script indicating India service. The scabbard is brown leather with steel throat mount and chape. The throat mount has a brass frog locket. All leather & stitching of the scabbard are intact. The price includes UK delivery. Sn 20125
