Create my profile now!A good old example and a large one, with thick spine and silver koftgari inlay in both spine close to the hilt and on each side of the blade in scrolling leaf patterns.
The blade is typical of the type and region with leaf shaped large single hollow forged fuller, the top spine edge is thick for part of the length and thins to a false edge with v ridge.
The hilt is made from wood with pommel tube and ferrule of thick nickel type white metal alloy and the grip is of ray skin in traditional form which is nailed to the under wood section with small brass pins.
There are no edge niks or other damage and the blade is still sharp but does have a very very fine pitting due to having had a very fibe surface rust that was sealed in by the original collector with a layer of oil, having now been cleaned this slight fine pitting appears like a wootz type but is not.
A fine old dha although sadly has no scabbard.
