These are an excellent original cased pair of Nazi German Army , 6 X 30 Magnification, Binoculars most likely a captured or British army veterans bring back piece. The brass Binoculars have a black textured finish, with adjustable Bakelite eyepieces. The body of the binoculars have lanyard bars (its original detached part leather neck strap is with the binoculars). It’s Bakelite adjustable eye pieces are undamaged and all optics are excellent and function as they should. One shoulder of the binoculars is marked ‘Dienstglas 6 x 30, No. 265246 & H/6400’. The other has manufacturer cartouche of ‘Ernst Leitz,Wetzlar’. The binoculars measure 6"width x 4 ½” height. They are contained in their original fitted sturdy Bakelite case with hinged lid, sprung metal clasp fastener and hanging rings. The case has 2 hanging bars to the rear and 2 side mounted hanging rings fitted with original leather shoulder strap. The inside of the lid is padded to protect the binoculars. The case contains an original period photograph with which it was found. The image has a German soldier in uniform wearing what appears to be these Binoculars (illustrated) indicating that these Binoculars are a WW2 captured or veteran’s bring back piece. The rear of the black & white photograph which measures approx. 2 ¼” x 3 ¼” has period image developer’s ink stamped letters & numbers (illustrated).
